Substance Abuse

At South Boston Hope & Recovery Coalition, we know that the treatment and prevention of addiction is a changing landscape. We’re always exploring new and innovative ways to engage the community in the ongoing struggle against substance abuse. Currently, we’re proposing a multiple-year program that focuses on the prevention of first-time use with prescription opioids (OxyContin, Percocet, etc.), prescription benzodiazepines (valium, klonopin) and heroin. By reaching out to our youth, we hope to reduce access to these drugs and create healthy alternatives for all of South Boston to engage in.

Here are resources to assist with questions, concerns, and treatment options for substance abuse challenges:

Learn to Cope

Learn to Cope is a support group for parents and family members dealing with a loved one addicted to heroin, OxyContin, and other drugs.
