<p>&#8220;To free the South Boston community from the abuse of harmful substances and to promote healthy lifestyles. Our priorities include:<br />
-Promoting an education an awareness campaign<br />
-Advocacy<br />
-Fundraising for increased services<br />
-Partnering with law enforcement and the court system<br />
-Partnering with others in the community to raise awareness and create change&#8221;</p>

That is, if you or someone you know has been recently released from prison or a rehab facility, the risk for overdose is signficantly higher. Starting in January, we will be offering regular overdose prevention trainings at the South Boston Collaborative Center at least three days a week and at multiple times throughout the day. Engaging youth in community transformation</p>
<p>Youth  Ambassadors are a group of young people in South Boston, ages 12-18,  who are trying to better their community.  They want to have a voice and  to be positive agents of change.  They are letting their voices and  other talents serve as tools for building a better community. They want  to show people that they have opinions and want to express them through  music and other art forms. They are engaged in art projects, community  clean-ups and beautification, community service trips and other work to  demonstrate that young people care about and are active members of the  community. These are vehicles by which they express their devotion and  passion for their community. In partnership with caring adults, they are  making a difference.</p>
<p>In addition to all of their local  volunteer work, each year twenty Youth Ambassadors travel to the Gulf  Coast area to assist with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort at a cost  of more than $20,000. If you would like to contribute to the fourth  annual Hurricane Katrina Relief community service trip or to our efforts  of engaging youth in community transformation please send a check or  money order to:<br />
