Hope & Recovery Talks Prevention Internationally.

It’s been an interesting and exciting 2 weeks here at HQ. I’m not talking about the planning for our awesome walk to raise awareness on Sept. 28th.

No, I am talking about the fact that we have had the opportunity to participate in a Community Coalitions Round table with the Director of National Drug Control Policy, Gil Kerlikowske. It was an honor and a privilege to be able to present the great work that has been happening in South Boston. Lt. Governor Murray also was present and both men were keenly interested in the new and innovative approaches community coalitions are doing in prevention work.

Last night we were also present at a small dinner at Hope House here in Boston. A delegation from Iraq which was made up mainly of treatment providers were the guests. They have come to the United States to learn more about our prevention and treatment models. It was an amazing opportunity to speak with these men who do incredible trauma work in an area that has historically been struggling.
